Our client is seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to own key indirect tax and compliance functions. This role focuses primarily on sales and use tax and 1099 reporting, with additional responsibility for unclaimed property and general tax matters. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and file multi-state sales and use tax returns accurately and on time, and reconcile sales/use tax accounts to the general ledger
- Research taxability of products and services, monitor nexus, and keep tax rates and rules current
- Manage the annual 1099 process end to end, including vendor W-9 collection, TIN matching, form preparation, filing, and corrections
- Prepare and file unclaimed property reports, conduct due diligence outreach, and maintain supporting records
- Respond to notices and support sales/use tax, 1099, and unclaimed property audits
- Assist with income tax provision, property tax, and other compliance filings as needed
- Identify process improvements and support tax technology and automation initiatives
- Partner with Accounting, AP, and Finance teams on tax-related questions and projects
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3 years of corporate or public accounting tax experience
- Strong hands-on experience with multi-state sales and use tax compliance
- Solid working knowledge of 1099 reporting requirements and IRS regulations
- Experience with unclaimed property reporting
- Broad general tax knowledge and strong research skills
- Advanced Excel skills; high attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines

- Experience with Workday Financials
- Experience with Vertex or similar tax engines
- CPA or progress toward CPA
