We are seeking a Senior-level Government Contracting Payroll professional to support a fast-paced outsourced accounting environment serving federal contractor clients. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity requiring deep, hands-on payroll ownership and strong client communication skills.
Compensation
- Contract: Up to $60/hour
- Conversion: $100,000–$120,000 base salary
Location
- Chantilly, VA
- Fully on-site (Monday–Friday)
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-end processing of bi-weekly, semi-monthly, and weekly payrolls
- Heavy use of Deltek Costpoint payroll
- Payroll accounting, journal entries, and general ledger reconciliations
- Payroll tax compliance (monthly, quarterly, annual filings)
- Garnishments, 401(k) contributions/loans, leave accruals, overtime, and off-cycle payments
- Support internal and external payroll audits
- Create and analyze payroll reports in Excel
- Serve as a client-facing payroll expert, responding to payroll inquiries and resolving issues
- Set up new state tax accounts and ensure multi-state compliance
Required Qualifications
- 5 years of CURRENT GovCon payroll experience
- 5 years of Deltek Costpoint payroll (required)
- Experience with ADP or Paylocity
- Strong payroll accounting and reconciliation background
- Excellent communication skills; comfortable working directly with external clients
- Ability to work independently and own payroll processes
- U.S. Citizenship required
