Scope of the Role
This role involves ownership of the financial month end close and cash month end close processes. Prepare balance sheets and profit and loss statements, and other financial reports. Complete balance sheet reconciliations. Responsibilities also include analysing trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future expenses. This position will also support the corporate consolidation and financial reporting function, as well as be involved in projects within both the treasury and financial reporting sectors.
Duties and Responsibilities
This individual will be responsible for completing the month end close for cash management and the corporate office. Will act as liaison between corporate office and the manufacturing sites as it relates to corporate polices, intercompany accounting, and treasury management.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Corporate month end close and financial reporting (30%)
- Complete and process monthly journal entries
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Weekly expense reporting / forecasting
- Ownership of the Corporate month end close including consolidations
- Monthly forecasting and trend analysis
- Annual budgeting
- Prepare monthly consolidated financial statements in accordance with GAAP
Treasury management (20%)
- Reconciliation of checks and wire disbursements
- Process outgoing wires
- Manage and reconcile monthly inter-company accounting
- Month end cash closing and reporting
- Daily cash positioning
- Route corporate related AP for processing
P-card Administrator (20%)
- RAMP administrator (T&E)
- Manage out of pocket reimbursements
- Monthly transaction audit
Project Management, and External Audit and Tax Support (30%)
Key Skills and Attributes
- The position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or related field.
- Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in accounting, Big 4 public accounting experience preferred
- Previous financial consolidations experience preferred as well as experience with M&A activity including purchase accounting
- The individual will be expected to be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the accounting and finance field.
- Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Be able to perform a variety of tasks and work under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
- This position is held within the corporate office and one must conduct oneself with professionalism at all times.
- Excellent phone skills, verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, strong interpersonal skills are a must, as well as willingness to accept and task ownership of new responsibilities in a fast growing environment.
- Additional requirements include a working knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and Outlook, and the ability to multi-task with moderate supervision. Experience with Cognos products would be plus, but not required.
