Spectrum for Living is a New Jersey not-for-profit organization dedicated to helping adults with developmental disabilities reach their maximum potential. We provide high-quality housing and clinical services in state-of-the-art facilities and in the homes of families caring for a loved one with disabilities.
We are currently seeking a Food Handler to join our team at the Rockleigh Supervised Apartments. The Food Handler plays a vital role in supporting the nutritional needs of our residents through the preparation, service, and safe handling of food.
Primary Functions:
- Review individualized menu requirements developed by the dietitian
- Prepare meals, bagged lunches, snacks, and nutritional supplements
- Order and purchase food and necessary supplies as needed
- Handle and store food in compliance with established policies and safety guidelines
- Maintain kitchen equipment and ensure cleanliness of food preparation and storage areas in accordance with state and local health regulations
Qualifications:
- Valid (non-probationary) NJ or NY driver's license
- High School Diploma or GED
- Prior experience in food service, including meal preparation, cooking, and serving
- Knowledge of dietary guidelines and food purchasing based on specific nutritional needs
Shift: Monday – Friday | 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.34 per hour
