Spectral AI, Inc. (SAI) is looking for an enthusiastic, collaborative engineering intern who will work closely with imaging, mechanical, electrical, and data science engineers to support the current and new imaging system. The person in this position will maintain and further develop an image quality review protocol using scripting languages and imaging fundamentals. This position is an opportunity for an individual to work with our engineering teams in a startup environment and to learn about our proprietary Deep Learning and Computer Vision techniques.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Work on a team of imaging and optical engineers
- Maintain and develop image quality assessment tool
- Collaborate with computer vision and imaging system engineers to develop new code
- Perform experiments to quantify image quality and system performance.
- Analyze and verify image processing algorithms
- Assist in the maintenance and sustaining of protocols and code releases
- In process of obtaining a BS or a graduate degree in a relevant degree (Optical Physics, Photonics, BME, CS)
- An enthusiastic and self-motivated team player who thrives in multidisciplinary environments, consistently delivering high-quality results with a positive attitude and professional mindset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- 1 years of experience in developing signal processing algorithms for imaging systems
- 2 years of experience of development in object-oriented languages (Python, C#)
- Strong object-oriented programming skills in Python and Image Processing
- Fluent in version control, debugging in Python
- Knowledge of wrappers and exposure of C functions to Python is a plus
- Experience in optimizing Image Signal Processing and computer vision algorithms is a plus.
- Experience on developing algorithms in GPU environments is a plus.
