Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Controls Documentation & Reconciliation Support
- Assist in documenting internal controls and accounting procedures.
- Support the standardization of account reconciliation formats, templates, and workflows.
- Maintain organized tracking log for department reconciliations, control evidence, and outstanding items.
- Review supporting documentation for completeness and accuracy.
- Prepare routine journal entries based on established support and predefined processes.
- Ensure entries comply with company policies and proper accounting treatment.
- Assist with month-end close tasks, including compiling support and validating financial data.
- Prepare draft schedules, exhibits, and analysis for management review.
- Assist with ad-hoc reporting requests, including data pulls, variance explanations, and formatting.
- Support the Controller with project-based tasks related to improving visibility into financial results.
- Work with financial data using Excel functions, formulas, pivot tables, and data validation.
- Assist in improving and standardizing Excel-based templates and schedules.
- Learn and apply advanced Excel tools such as conditional formatting, lookups, and basic automation.
- Assist in maintaining organized accounting records and documentation repositories.
- Help with data cleanup, reformatting, and process standardization efforts.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education and experience:
- Currently pursuing an associate or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Willingness to learn and improve Excel skills.
- Organizational skills, including maintaining clear records.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate.
- Professionalism and confidentiality with sensitive information.
