UX Researcher
Location: Weehawken Township, NJ (Hybrid/Onsite)
Duration: 18 Months Contract
$45/hr on W2
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced UX Researcher to help define and drive the future of our digital products and user experiences. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in qualitative and quantitative research methodologies and a passion for understanding user needs. Experience within Wealth Management, Capital Markets, or Financial Services is highly preferred.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with designers, product managers, engineers, and business stakeholders to uncover user insights, influence product strategy, and ensure that our products deliver intuitive, accessible, and seamless experiences.
Key Responsibilities
User Research & Discovery
- Plan and conduct user research using various methodologies, including:
- User interviews
- Surveys
- Usability testing
- Field studies
- Contextual inquiries
- Gather and analyze user behavior, needs, motivations, and pain points.
Product Evaluation & Usability
- Evaluate existing products and services to identify usability issues and opportunities for improvement.
- Conduct heuristic evaluations and usability assessments to improve overall user experience.
Data Analysis & Insights
- Analyze qualitative and quantitative research data.
- Identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights that inform product and design decisions.
- Synthesize research findings into clear recommendations.
Communication & Stakeholder Management
- Present research findings and recommendations to UX teams, product managers, engineering teams, and senior stakeholders.
- Create compelling reports, presentations, and research artifacts that drive action.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with UX designers, product managers, engineers, and business stakeholders throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Ensure research findings are incorporated into product strategy and design decisions.
User-Centered Design Advocacy
- Champion user-centered design principles across teams.
- Promote accessibility, inclusivity, and best practices in user experience design.
Required Qualifications
- 7–8 years of professional experience in UX Research or related disciplines.
- Strong expertise in both qualitative and quantitative research methods.
- Hands-on experience conducting:
- User interviews
- Surveys
- Usability testing
- Research synthesis and analysis
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends and derive meaningful insights from data.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Experience working in cross-functional product teams.
- Strong understanding of User-Centered Design (UCD) principles and methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within Wealth Management, Capital Markets, Investment Banking, Trading Platforms, or Financial Services.
- Familiarity with enterprise applications and complex financial workflows.
- Experience influencing product strategy through research-driven insights.
