Job Title: Senior Site Safety & Health Specialist
Location: Palmdale, CA (Local candidates only)
Duration: 12 Months (Temp to Hire)
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday | 40 hours/week
Job Description:
The Senior Site Safety & Health Specialist will lead and implement project-specific safety policies and provide Safety & Health leadership in a commercial construction environment. This role is responsible for managing on-site safety programs and ensuring all construction activities are executed safely and in compliance with regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and implement site Safety & Health programs in line with corporate guidelines
Ensure compliance with OSHA and other local, state, and federal safety regulations
Conduct site inspections, audits, and safety assessments
Lead incident investigations including near-miss, property damage, and environmental events
Identify risks and implement corrective and preventive actions
Stop work in case of unsafe conditions or imminent danger
Collaborate with project teams, subcontractors, and safety leadership
Conduct safety training and promote safety awareness across the site
Maintain daily safety reports, documentation, and audit-ready records
Perform safety walk-throughs and track corrective actions to closure
Communicate safety issues and recommendations to project leadership
Coordinate with corporate and client safety teams
Required Qualifications:
7 years of construction safety or construction management experience
Commercial building construction experience required
Strong knowledge of OSHA (Construction & General Industry) regulations
OSHA 10-hour or OSHA 30-hour certification required
Experience with safety audits, compliance, and reporting
Ability to manage site safety programs independently
Must be local to Palmdale, CA
Valid driver’s license required
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with ANSI, NIOSH, EM 385-1-1, NEC standards
Experience on large-scale commercial or heavy construction projects
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
Salary : $65 - $72
