Specialty Real Estate Group and Laurelhurst Property Management are looking for a Property Manager/Bookkeeper to join our team.
About the Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized professional to manage our residential/commercial property portfolio while maintaining accurate financial records. This dual role combines hands-on property management with bookkeeping responsibilities, ideal for someone who enjoys variety and can balance tenant relations with financial administration.
Property Management Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary point of contact for tenants, addressing maintenance requests, lease inquiries, and general concerns in a timely and professional manner. Coordinate maintenance and repairs with vendors and contractors, obtaining quotes and ensuring quality work completion. Conduct property inspections to ensure units meet safety standards and lease compliance. Oversee the leasing process including showing properties, screening applicants, preparing lease agreements, and coordinating move-ins and move-outs. Ensure properties are well-maintained and address any code violations or safety issues promptly.
Bookkeeping Responsibilities:
Maintain accurate financial records for all properties including rent collection, expenses, and vendor payments. Process accounts payable and receivable, reconcile bank statements, and track security deposits. Prepare monthly financial reports and statements for property owners. Manage lease documentation and maintain organized filing systems (digital and physical). Process payroll if applicable and ensure timely payment of property-related bills and taxes. Assist with budget preparation and year-end financial documentation for tax purposes.
Qualifications:
2 years of experience in property management, bookkeeping, or related field. Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, AppFolio or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong understanding of landlord-tenant laws and fair housing regulations. Excellent communication and customer service skills with the ability to handle difficult situations professionally. Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for property visits.
Preferred Qualifications:
Real estate license (not required, but preferred). Previous experience managing residential/commercial properties. Familiarity with property management software platforms.
