What are the responsibilities and job description for the Vice President Finance position at Specialty Consultants Inc.?
SCI, the Leader in Real Estate Executive Search®, has been retained by a vertically integrated multifamily real estate investment and development platform (~2,500 units across market-rate and LIHTC, with in-house property management, construction, and development) to recruit a Vice President of Finance to build its enterprise finance function.
Reporting to the Principals and serving on the executive leadership team, the VP of Finance will own the enterprise consolidation layer above the property line: liquidity architecture, capital allocation discipline, forecasting and budgeting integration, internal controls, tax strategy coordination, insurance and balance sheet risk, partner PFS reporting, and LTI program administration.
Key Requirements
- 12–18 years of finance experience, currently in a VP Finance, Head of Finance, Director of FP&A role
- Real estate experience preferred; backgrounds from other PE-backed or asset-heavy businesses will be considered
- Personally built FP&A and treasury infrastructure within the last 5–7 years — hands-on, not delegated
- Must utilize AI tools actively in their finance workflow today.
- Fluent in multi-entity consolidation, leveraged balance sheets, and covenant exposure
- Demonstrated comfort operating in a founder-led environment
