Position Summary
SBS is seeking a Compliance Specialist to support and manage product‑ and material‑related compliance activities across our global fastener portfolio. This role is well‑suited for a highly detail‑oriented individual with strong analytical and systems skills who is interested in regulatory compliance, materials science, and global supply chains.
This is an in‑office position based at our Agawam, MA headquarters. Prior work experience is not required; recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain regulatory compliance data related to global fastener products
- Coordinate and support compliance requirements including, but not limited to:
- REACH
- RoHS
- Full Material Declarations (FMDs)
- Customer‑specific material and substance reporting requests
- Collect, review, and validate material disclosures and compliance documentation from global suppliers
- Ensure accurate classification, documentation, and record‑keeping within SBS systems
- Maintain and analyze compliance data using internal systems and Microsoft Excel
- Support internal teams (procurement, quality, sales, and supply chain) with compliance‑related inquiries
- Assist with audits, customer requests, and regulatory updates as needed
- Help improve and standardize compliance processes and data quality across regions
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Chemistry, Materials Science, Environmental Science, or other relevant scientific/technical discipline preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- High level of comfort working with data and documentation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (filters, formulas, data analysis, lookups, pivot tables)
- Strong systems aptitude; ability to learn and work within ERP and compliance databases
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a structured, process‑driven environment
