EHS Specialist -Contract

Responsibilities:
- Lead proactive environmental, health, and safety (EHS) initiatives including hazard identification, risk assessments, safety observations, and employee engagement programs.
- Identify, evaluate, and mitigate workplace safety and environmental risks within manufacturing operations.
- Partner with site leadership to develop and execute EHS strategies, programs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Conduct investigations into injuries, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies, procedures, training programs, and regulatory compliance initiatives.
- Manage hazardous waste and manufacturing byproducts while supporting cost reduction and environmental compliance efforts.
- Collaborate cross-functionally on change management projects and maintain compliance with OSHA, EPA, NFPA, UL, and other applicable regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Sciences, or a related field required.
- Minimum of 7 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing or R&D environment.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, NFPA, UL, and other applicable safety and environmental regulations.
- Proven experience with process improvement, program management, and safety culture development.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills with the ability to engage all levels of the organization.
- Experience with additive manufacturing, engine testing, or casting processes preferred.
- U.S. Citizenship required with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.
