Civil Engineer (PE)

Our client, a growing and highly respected engineering organization, is seeking an experienced Professional Engineer (PE) to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned civil engineering professional who thrives on independently managing projects from concept through completion while serving as a trusted advisor to clients and mentoring developing engineers.

The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in water and wastewater systems, hydrology, utility design, erosion control, and regulatory permitting, along with the leadership skills necessary to help shape a growing engineering practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently manage complex civil engineering projects from inception through completion, including planning, design, permitting, regulatory approvals, and client communication throughout the entire project lifecycle.
• Prepare and oversee designs for:
• • Water and wastewater infrastructure
  • Hydrology and drainage systems
  • Utility design
  • Site layout and grading
  • Erosion and sediment control measures
• Utilize AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D to develop engineering plans and construction documents.
• Conduct site investigations and evaluate maps, reports, surveys, test results, drawings, and technical specifications.
• Coordinate directly with regulatory agencies to secure approvals and ensure compliance with applicable local, state, and federal requirements.
• Monitor project schedules, budgets, deliverables, and overall progress.
• Compile and communicate project status updates to clients and internal stakeholders.
• Identify project challenges and develop practical, innovative engineering solutions.
• Mentor, train, and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and engineering staff.
• Contribute to the continued growth and development of the engineering team and overall practice.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE) required.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Minimum 8 years of civil engineering experience, including work involving:
• • Water and wastewater systems
  • Hydrology and drainage
  • Utility design
  • Erosion control
  • Regulatory approvals and permitting
• Minimum 5 years of experience using AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage projects from start to finish with minimal supervision.
• Proven experience coordinating directly with clients, regulatory agencies, contractors, and project stakeholders.
• Strong technical writing, communication, and project management skills.
• Ability to balance multiple priorities while maintaining quality, safety, and compliance standards.
