Career Exploration Instructor: Transportation - North Tech

As a North Tech Career Exploration Transportation Teacher, you will help high school students explore the automotive and diesel industry through hands-on learning and real-world experiences. Drawing from your industry knowledge, you will introduce students to foundational concepts such as vehicle systems, maintenance, shop safety, and the tools used in today’s automotive field. Through demonstrations, interactive instruction, and field-based experiences, you will help students better understand transportation careers while building confidence, responsibility, and practical workplace skills. Working alongside career and technical education instructors and industry partners, you will support students as they explore future pathways and prepare to enter a focused CTE program.
Experience and Education
- To be eligible for this position, the applicant must meet one of the following criteria:
- Six thousand (6,000) hours of closely related occupational experience obtained within the past ten (10) years. This roughly equates to three (3) years of full-time experience; OR
- Associate's degree from an accredited college or university and five thousand (5,000) hours of closely related occupational experience within the past ten (10) years. This roughly equates to two and a half (2.5) years of full-time experience; OR
- Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university and four thousand (4,000) hours of closely related occupational experience obtained within the past ten (10) years. This roughly equates to two (2) years of full-time experience; OR
- Missouri Career Technical Education (CTE) Teacher Certification in a closely related occupation
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- Teacher certification is not required upon hire
- Applying for career and technical education certification through the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) and completing up to 18 college credit hours to obtain a Career and Technical Education Teaching Certificate is required
Salary
- $49,000 to $83,250/year based on experience and education
