Student Compliance Director

As the Student Compliance Director for Special School District (SSD), you will help ensure students and families are supported through fair, responsive, and legally compliant special education processes. In this role, you will guide District responses to mediations, due process matters, student rights concerns, and state and federal complaints, while serving as a trusted resource to administrators and school teams regarding IDEA, Section 504, FERPA, Title IX, and related requirements. You will communicate directly with families, collaborate with District leaders and legal counsel, coordinate resolution processes, and help strengthen systems that support student services across St. Louis County. Through training, consultation, data analysis, and continuous improvement efforts, your work will help schools maintain strong compliance practices while supporting positive outcomes for students and families.
Education and Experience
- Master’s degree in education required
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- 3-5 years of administrator or other relevant experience, which may include current or previous roles as building-level principals, area coordinators, directors, or other applicable educational experiences, required
- SSD is also willing to consider experienced attorneys who have obtained a Juris Doctor from an accredited university or college and have practiced education law, preferably special education law, with a current Missouri license in good standing
