Position Summary: The CNC Programmer/Operator is responsible for programming, troubleshooting, setting-up and operating Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machinery in a safe and efficient manner.
Essential Functions: A qualified individual must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Performs CNC programming for CNC machinery; translates product design criteria into machine requirements; translates engineering drawings and CAD files into CAM software.
- Reviews hardware requirements per job and programs hardware machining feature locations using machine-native software.
- Creates new programs and modifies existing programs for CNC machines.
- Documents all programs with instructions and/or in-process drawings with a high degree of accuracy so Operators can easily understand the instructions and run the programs.
- Adheres to and maintains, IT protocol for the naming, storage and management of created data including but not limited to: CNC programs, hardware lists, fixtures, tooling, etc..
- Collaborates with manufacturing management, engineering and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
- Assists with inspection, qualification and validation of tools, fixtures, etc., using basic inspection equipment.
- Participates in design reviews on cross-functional teams, as required, to ensure the conformance to specifications.
- Completes documentation in accordance with appropriate procedures.
- Operates CNC machinery according to established procedures and methods.
- Conducts necessary in-process inspections, preventative maintenance activities, secondary operations and packaging operations as required.
- Promotes transparency and champions strong multi-directional communication throughout the organization.
- Cultivates and maintains strong relationships with internal and external customers.
- Contributes to the creation and implementation of best practice strategy, policies, processes, and procedures to aid and improve operational performance.
- Provides innovative ideas to improve operations by recommending, supporting and implementing continuous improvement activities and process and procedure improvements to optimize results and improve quality of delivery, in alignment with quality standards, Company and customer requirements.

Position Requirements :
- High school diploma or GED with a minimum of two (2) years of programming and machining experience in a tool shop or manufacturing environment is required; or an Associate?s Degree in precision machining, technologies, or related field is beneficial.
- Must be able to work from written or verbal instructions, and detailed engineering drawings.
- Possess the ability to run programs which have been created on the applicable machines.
- Experience with manufacturing criteria data (i.e., drawings, specifications, tooling, etc.)
- Must be detail oriented, able to work independently as a problem-solver with excellent verbal and written communication skills and have the ability to finish projects in a timely manner.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external suppliers/customers via either telephone or email correspondence.
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary performance.
- Excellent attention to detail in all aspects of assigned work.
- Ability to develop and nurture strong, productive relationships with all levels within the organization, respecting established processes and fostering an environment of mutual respect.

- Safety glasses are required on the production floor at all times.
