Pay: $170,000 - $180,000
Position Summary
The Site Leader is responsible for effectively leading and driving results for all areas of Operations. The Site Leader will ensure the successful accomplishment of Operational Key Performance Indicators, goals and objectives. Essential attributes of this individual are customer focus, strong cross functional collaborative skills, leading by example, acting with, and driving a strong sense of urgency and the ability to cultivate a culture of high-performance and continuous improvement
Position Responsibilities:
- Execute the corporation’s manufacturing strategy, prioritizing work as required and interacting with all the organization's departments to maintain and improve operations performance.
- Coordinate plant activities through planning with departmental managers to ensure the manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Analyze production metrics and data to determine areas for improvement
- Responsible for leading all operations and the actions required to assure production, shipping schedules and planned sales are achieved within the established budget.
- Present at production review meetings. Report on performance against targets
- Ensure production metrics are completed accurately, in a timely manner, and reported to the COO as well as the site employees.
- Responsible for the overall performance of all Operational areas, defined as Manufacturing, Supply Chain (Procurement & Production Planning), Mfg. Engineering, Facilities and Quality Assurance.
- Define and implement strategies, resource management, and processes to meet customer requirements for quality, cost, manufacturability, and timeliness of manufactured products in accordance with customer and regulatory guidelines.
- Lead, motivate, and develop human capital, including implementation of the company’s values and behaviors to ensure a culture consistent with the company’s plan.
- Cultivate an effective and productive working relationship with the Union Workforce
- Establish a sustainable culture of safety, quality and continuous improvement.
- Assist in the development and implementation of annual operating and long-range plans concerning all pertinent aspects relating to operations, people, capital equipment and facilities.
- Ensure safety and regulatory compliance is maintained.
- Ensure the proper sense of urgency in support of our customers and the overall business.
- Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this job.
Internal Relationships:
- Reports to the US COO
- Directly manages Operations, Supply Chain, Mfg. Engineering, EH&S and MRO operations. Manages support staff and hourly personnel indirectly
- Interacts with Quality, Continuous Improvement Leader, Sales/Customer Service, Product Engineering and Finance functional groups on a variety of Operational Issues.
- Interact with Union Leadership on site
- Interact with Corporate professionals to share best practices and collaborate on various initiatives.
External Relationships:
- Interacts with customers as needed
- Interacts with subcontractors as needed
Position Requirements:
- Due to ITAR regulations, must be a U.S. Person
- Minimum 7 years manufacturing management experience, including at least 5 years in precision machining and metal-removing environments
- Extensive experience utilizing Lean tools (5S, SMED, Kaizen, cellular manufacturing, continuous improvement)
- Strong knowledge of CNC machining in a metal-removing environment
- P&L management experience required
- Proven leadership experience across manufacturing operations (Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, Facilities)
- Strong planning, organizational, and leadership skills with ability to drive operational performance
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with ability to work cross-functionally
- Experience working in a matrix organization and influencing at all levels
- Union/collective bargaining experience preferred
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required (Engineering or Business preferred)
- ERP experience (Dynamics 365 or similar) preferred
