Position Summary of the Local Driver:
We are seeking a reliable, safety-focused, and customer-oriented Local Driver to join a growing logistics team in Palatine, IL. The Local Driver is responsible for the safe operation of a tractor and trailer to transport freight to customers accurately and on time. This individual will serve as a professional representative of the company by providing outstanding customer service while ensuring safe and efficient deliveries.
Position Responsibilities of the Local Driver:
· Operate a commercial vehicle transporting freight safely and efficiently to customer locations
· Ensure all cargo is loaded and secured properly prior to departure
· Deliver excellent customer service by handling deliveries professionally and addressing customer concerns when needed
· Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns
· Follow all DOT regulations along with company safety policies and procedures
· Maintain accurate driving logs, route documentation, and cargo records
· Communicate effectively with dispatch regarding schedules, delays, and transportation issues
· Maintain a clean and professional appearance while representing the company
Position Requirements of the Local Driver:
· Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) in resident state
· Hazmat, tanker, and doubles endorsements required
· Must be at least 21 years of age
· Ability to meet all DOT and company requirements
· Strong commitment to safety and safe work practices
· Ability to safely perform essential job functions without risk to self or others
· Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
· Authorized to work in the United States
· Strong organizational and time management skills
· Impeccable customer service skills and professional attitude
