Maintenance Technician – Job Description (Limited Service Hotel)
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the overall upkeep, repair, and preventative maintenance of the hotel property, ensuring a safe, functional, and well-maintained environment for guests and team members.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs in guest rooms and public areas
- Troubleshoot and repair PTAC (Packaged Terminal Air Conditioner) units, including cleaning filters, checking drainage, and basic operational fixes
- Complete preventative maintenance on PTAC units to ensure proper heating and cooling performance
- Address work orders in a timely and efficient manner
General Maintenance Duties
- Repair plumbing issues such as leaks, clogged drains, and running toilets
- Replace light bulbs, ballasts, outlets, and switches
- Perform minor electrical and carpentry repairs
- Maintain door locks, hardware, and safety features
- Touch-up painting and wall repairs as needed
Grounds & Exterior
- Keep parking lot, sidewalks, and exterior areas clean and safe
- Remove trash and debris as needed
- Assist with seasonal maintenance (snow removal, salting, etc.)
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure hotel meets brand standards and safety requirements
- Report any major repairs or safety hazards immediately
- Maintain proper use and storage of tools and chemicals
Team Support
- Assist housekeeping and front desk with maintenance-related guest requests
- Communicate effectively with management regarding ongoing issues
- Help with room inspections when needed
Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
- Experience with PTAC units preferred
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour
