Health and Physical Education Instructor

Anticipated Start: Immediately, Fall 2025

Primary Purpose

Instruction in assigned Health and Physical Education classes for the Fall 2025 semester. All classes are in-person on the Jackson campus in Sylva, NC.

Hours Needed

Mondays: 8:00 AM - 12:15 PM

Tuesdays: 8:00 AM - 10:45 AM

Wednesdays: 8:00 AM - 10:45 AM

Thursdays: 8:00 AM - 10:45 AM

Assignment

• Daytime class at Jackson campus
• Prepare and teach assigned courses in accordance with course outlines and published course schedule.
• Collaborate with Arts and Sciences colleagues and administrators in program planning, assessment, and continuous improvement processes.
• Maintain accurate records for each course taught.
• Assist in student retention.
• Participate in college events and activities.
• Cooperate in scheduled student evaluations of instructor and space.
• Keep regular posted office hours in accordance with college policy.
• Submit all college reports in an accurate timely fashion.
• Attend instructor and departmental meetings as scheduled.
• Be responsible for professional development and maintaining professional competence.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
  
  

Qualifications

Required: Master's degree in Health and Wellness or Physical Education or closely related discipline with 18 graduate hours in Health and Wellness or PE

Preferred: College teaching experience.

Knowledge And Skills

Ability to use computers and software to support instruction, including course management
