Role
Objectives of this Role:
- Ability to multi-task, pay attention to detail, possess good organization skill, knowledge of basic office procedures and follow safety policies.
- Communicate effectively with co-workers, staff and project managers.
- Work with minimal supervision.
- Work well with others and act on own initiative to carry out routine task and procedure in timely manner.
- Package and ship hazardous material by FedEx ground or air service.
- Prepare sample kits for independent field contractors and terminal personnel for collecting and shipping fuel samples.
- Process outbound shipments using the federal Express Software System.
- Communicate shipping, login and sample issues to the project leaders and administrative staff.
- Unpack and process incoming shipments of hazardous and non-hazardous material.
- Electronically log in fuel samples to the laboratory information system to initiate electronic laboratory work orders.
- Assist in maintaining inventory of shipping supplies on hand.
- Process pictures of samples for specific projects.
- Operate and conduct minor maintenance on the department's bottle washer.
- Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
- 2-4 years: Related work experience in shipping & receiving or warehouse environment.
- Knowledge of shipping hazardous materials preferred but not required.
- General computer experience is required. Basic knowledge of MS Word and Excel is preferred but not required.
- A valid/clear driver's license is required.
