JOB DESCRIPTION FOR SENIOR NUTRITION SITE MANAGER

Status:  Non-Exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act                                           

 

Code:  X35B                     Salary Band:  D             

Pay Rate:  $13.75 per hour. This is a temporary position expected to last up to 6/30/2026.

 

 

Supervisory Relationships:  Supervised by the Program Director. Supervises site staff, volunteers, and trainees.

 

Purpose:  The purpose of the Senior Nutrition Site Manager is to oversee the daily operation of the assigned site in an efficient and cost effective manner that serves the needs of the elderly in the community.

 

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

1.            Supervises all cook, cook aides, trainees, and volunteers. Recruits volunteers and oversees their activities.

 

2.            Maintains site records and submits all required reports accurately and timely. Assists with the inventory of food and supplies. Maintains a reservation system for meals.

 

3.            Supervises delivery of meals services, places orders for supplies, and assists with the carryout meals.

 

4.            Enforces health, sanitary, and safety regulations. Follows program guidelines. Oversees maintenance of facility and equipment.

 

5.            Plans and implements educational and recreational programs. Plans, organizes, and conducts various activities. This includes surveying participants for their interests. Examples of activities are games, crafts, exercise programs, and health information. Conducts online research for senior activities to implement in the center.

 

6.            Ensures that participants and guests are made welcome. Ensures the site has a cheerful atmosphere. Recruits participants to the meal site.  This includes decorating the site for seasons and holidays and planning appropriate activities, such as Mother’s and Father’s Day recognition.

 

7.            Administers appropriate parts of OKDHS Form AG-2-A, Older Americans Act Assessment to participants. Prepares all required Older Americans Act reporting to include activity rosters, monthly reports, client assessments and re-assessments, and other documents as needed. Uses computer to enter data and maintain electronic database for NAPIS reporting. Provides data to Community Action staff as required.

 

8.            Oversees the handling of participant contributions according to State Agency regulations. Counts money according to SOCAG internal controls. Makes daily deposits and provides deposit records to SOCAG Accounting Department in a timely manner. Must be bondable.

 

9.            Must be able to work in the kitchen in the absence of the Cook or Cook Aide. This includes cooking, serving the meals, and cleaning.

 

10.          Other related duties as assigned.

 

Performance Expectations:

1.            Confidentiality of client data and sensitive program information is essential.

 

2.            Must be accurate and timely with reporting requirements.

 

3.            Comply with program, health, and sanitation guidelines. Abides by SOCAG Personnel Policies.

 

4.            Attend training as required. Must maintain any training or certification requirements, such as the OKDHS Form AG-2-A.

 

5.            Concern for the elderly. Stays abreast of trends and issues affecting persons over 60, especially those with the greatest need such as low-income and minority.

 

6.            Performs tasks in the most efficient manner possible. This includes working within the budget and operating in a cost effective manner.

 

7.            Must be able to plan, coordinate, and facilitate activities.  

Qualifications:

Qualifications:

1.            High School Diploma or GED required plus one year of full-time employment in an aging program.

 

2.            Able to meet local and/or state sanitation rules. Able to obtain a Food Handler’s Permit, if required. Able to be certified as an intake/screener in the use of the Older Americans Assessment.

 

3.            Annual Tuberculin screen is required or as directed by a medical professional.

 

4.            Negative pre-employment drug screen prior to employment with a current photo identification. During employment, employees are subject to drug testing according to SOCAG Personnel Policies.

 

5.            Criminal background checks are required and performed according to Oklahoma statutes and any program regulations.

 

Working Conditions:

1.            Able to work with a computer and complete multiple reports with a high degree of accuracy. Uses Internet to research activities as needed.

 

2.            Must be able to fulfill the kitchen duties of cooking, serving meals, and cleaning in the absence of the Cook or Cook Aide. Kitchen conditions include standing for long periods, lifting food supplies and large pots and pans, and working in above average temperatures due to the use of commercial ranges and ovens. The ability to operate commercial kitchen equipment is required. Must be able to work with cleaning products.

 

3.            Must be able to interact and relate to elderly in a positive manner. Works to provide an interactive, fun, and socially engaging atmosphere.

 

4.            Must be able to communicate written and oral. The ability to lead a team is important. Must be able to supervise staff and oversee the daily operations of the meal site.

 

5.            Some travel is necessary for job duties.  Oklahoma driver’s license required with acceptable motor vehicle record. Vehicle must have state minimum insurance. Travel includes meal delivery, site visits as assigned, and training as needed. May include some evenings and overnight trips.
