The SouthWest Metro Intermediate District #288 has a Full-Time opening for a Special Education Paraeducator, (One-to-One) in the RISE program located at River Valley Education Center in Jordan, MN.

The RISE (Reaching Independence through Structured Environments) Program serves students at our River Valley Education Center (grades K-8) and St. Boni Education Center (grades K-5). RISE is an Autism Program (ASD) and Developmental Cognitive/Behavioral Program (DCD).
Description:
Special Education Paraeducator, 7 hours a day for 183 Contract Days.
Efficiently and effectively assist in providing a well-organized, smoothly functioning program in a special education setting while working under the supervision of a supervising teacher. Performs support work assisting students in meeting educational, communication, emotional, physical and behavioral goals of special needs students. Works Individually or in small groups.
Job Summary:
Provide support by working directly with students to increase their academic, social/behavioral, communication, and study skills under the direction of the teacher(s).
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent, prefer 2 years of post-secondary training or AA degree in child development.
- Experience working with students with significant disabilities is preferred, but not required.
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (CPI) required. Training is offered by the school district.
- Must pass a background check.
- Capable of discretion/confidentiality.
Pay & Benefits:
