Come work with a woman and therapist run company Ampersand Therapy is hiring a Special Education Paraeducators in the North St. Paul, MN area for the school year. These paras will be working in a Transition Program supporting students ages 18-22 as they gain independent living and employment skills.
Responsibilities:
- Position: Special Education Paraeducator
- Transition Program (ages 18-22)
- Full-time positions (30 hours of paid time a week)
- Support students working on independent living skills and employment skills
- Must be comfortable assisting with personal cares for adult students
- Assist in implementing student Individualized Educational Plan (IEP), 504 Plans, Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP), and sensory plans
- Work under the direction of a licensed teacher
Qualifications:
- Associates Degree or equivalent, or 2 years post secondary and at least 60 completed credits OR
- Paraprofessional Credential through Minnesota Department of Education (such as passing score on ParaPro or ParaEducator Assessments or credentialed on the PELSB rubric)
- Clean driving record - van/bus training preferred
- Previous experience working in the school setting preferred
