Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled AutoCAD Designer with a strong background in electrical drafting to join our Converse-based team. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) to create detailed and precise engineering drawings that meet project specifications while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams. Your contributions will play a pivotal role in driving our projects from concept through to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Create detailed 2D and 3D AutoCAD models and drawings based on specifications provided by engineers and project managers
· Draft and develop detailed electrical drawings: one-lines, schematics, panel schedules, and switchgear/equipment layouts.
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to meet tight deadlines on complex projects.
- Review and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and other documents to ensure accuracy and adherence to standards
- Collaborate with engineers and other stakeholders to refine designs and address any issues during the design process
- Conduct design reviews and present findings to team members and clients, incorporating feedback into revisions
- Maintain organized records of drawings, revisions, and project documentation in compliance with company policies
- Stay updated with the latest AutoCAD software and design techniques to improve design quality and efficiency continuously
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Associate degree in Drafting, Design Technology, Engineering, or a related field
- 2 years of experience using AutoCAD software (such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar) to produce design drawings.
- 2 years of electrical drafting experience in commercial projects.
- Familiarity with equipment and switchgears layouts.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles and design standards
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Preferred:
- Experience in a specific industry, such as commercial electrical or electrical engineering.
- Proficiency in 3D modeling software and familiarity with simulation tools
- Experience with project management software and methodologies
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Expertise in AutoCAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit, etc.)
- Familiarity with engineering analysis tools and methods
- Understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and project specifications
