What are the responsibilities and job description for the Underground Mobile Maintenance Planner position at Southwest Critical Materials LLC?
Purpose of the Position:
The Underground Mobile Maintenance Planner ensures that all maintenance activities at Pumpkin Hollow are appropriately planned (with Production and Maintenance) so that the work can progress in a safe, environmentally responsible, efficient, cost effective and repeatable manner. The Underground Mobile Maintenance Planner will optimize, and monitor compliance with project programs and schedules for all projects related to the underground.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Develop and utilize standard job plan’s (SJP’s) for routine construction activities per corporate standards
- Continually review, seek feedback, and optimize the resources, parts, tooling, task list, safety information, drawings, risk assessment and staging approach related to SJP’s
- Trips underground to see the job and meet with the maintenance workers for a proper feel for the job
- Ensure that all routine SJP’s, safety information, drawings, PM activities are uploaded and maintained in project files
- Create and maintain work orders and requisitions (materials, equipment, and services) in D365. Confirm that parts, specialized tools, equipment, and external labor are available prior to releasing work orders
- Review and approve invoices for payment by Accounts Payable
- Liaise with Supply Chain to expedite external parts and contractor labor, when necessary, based on construction targets, regulatory compliance requirements and safety. Ensure that all direct purchases and contracts for equipment and personnel meet Supply Chain policies and procedures
- Provide quality work packs to Supervisors for all routine maintenance activities to support efficient and effective work execution. Seek detailed work completion information from the Supervisors and resolve any issues as necessary
- Update and maintain status of work orders in D365 to ensure accurate backlog and history
- Create and maintain detailed parts descriptions/specifications
- Liaise with supply chain to manage warehouse inventory (new stock requests, min/max levels, critical spares, obsolete inventory)
- Create budget and LOM construction/projects plans (with costs)
- Support environmental (EMS), safety, and health programs
- Attend underground safety team meetings and follow through, as assigned, on construction/project issues for resolution.

Health and Safety:
Expected to always wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while in a production environment (hard hat, safety belt, self-rescue respiratory device, steel toed boats/metatarsal protection, reflective visible clothing) or as required for a specific job duty. All equipment must be MSHA approved as applicable
Ensure that all safety procedures and regulatory guidelines are followed. Support the site safety culture through leadership and regularly engaging with and holding the workforce accountable for safe work practices. Participate in health and safety meetings and risk reviews as required.
Knowledge / Education:
The incumbent must have proficient knowledge in the following areas:
- 5 to 10 years practical experience in mining industry, required
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience with computerbased maintenance planning/scheduling, required
- Mechanical trade background or degree in technical trade, required
- Direct experience working in an underground mining environment, preferred
- Technical qualification in Diesel Technology/ Millwright or equivalent, preferred
- D365 or similar ERP experience, preferred
- Knowledge of budgeting
- Knowledge of maintenance scheduling software
- Focus on quality input of construction data so that it can be used to drive continuous improvement
- Advanced computer skills applying Microsoft Office (MS Excel, MS Word, MS Project, MS Outlook)

Work Schedule and Personal Protective Equipment:
The incumbent work schedule is typically a 40 hour/week schedule. During the initial ramp up, additional work time will be required to meet the goals and objectives of the business. Personal Protective Equipment required for the fieldwork portion of this position includes, but is not limited to, hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toed boots.
