What are the responsibilities and job description for the Middle School History and Bible Teacher position at Southside Christian School?
Southside Christian School is seeking a passionate and dynamic Middle School Teacher to teach 3 sections of history and 3 sections of Bible. Each section is 45 minutes a day and each section is capped at 15 students. Teacher should have ability to inspire and engage students.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to foster a love for History, God's Word, and critical thinking skills while cultivating a supportive and inclusive classroom environment. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong communication skills, effective instructional practices, and a commitment to helping students think critically about historical events through a biblical worldview.
This teacher will design and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards that emphasize the study of history and God’s Word, guiding students to think critically about historical events through a biblical worldview while deepening their understanding of Scripture and its application to life. Our faculty utilizes BJU textbooks. Experience with that curriculum is helpful but is not required.
Southside Christian School is a discipleship school that hires Christian teachers and enrolls students whose parents have provided a letter of reference from a church of like-faith. We currently have over 100 local churches represented in the student body.

The teacher will utilize Curriculum Trak, RenWeb, and the Google Workspace Apps. Training will be provided to ensure the teacher is comfortable with these programs, and the teacher may have the textbooks at the end of May to begin reviewing.
