Position Summary: Responsible for the development and administration of the Terrestrial Wildlife program addressing wildlife resources management and conservation for the Southern Ute Indian Tribe on the Reservation. This position is a grade E15; the salary starts at $74,804/year.
Education And Experience
- Must have a MA/MS in Wildlife Science or a BA/BS degree in Wildlife and/or Fisheries Science and 2 years of experience in wildlife science.
- Must have 3 years of experience in the field of wildlife research or management.
- Must have 1 year of project management experience.
- Must have 1 year of experience in employee supervision and personnel management.
- Must have general knowledge of budget development and administration.
- Must have computer experience in software programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.
- Must have valid Driver’s license for state of residency and be insurable under the Tribal vehicle insurance policy.
- Must pass a thorough criminal history background check.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test.
Preferred Qualifications
- Practical experience in conducting aerial surveys using helicopter and fixed-winged aircraft.
- General knowledge of Arc Map and GIS.
- Knowledge of the Southern Ute Indian Reservation boundaries and roads.
