Position Summary
This is a professional teaching position with the Southern Ute Indian Montessori Academy (SUIMA). An employee in this position uses the Montessori philosophy to provide Southern Ute Indian Montessori Academy students with a developmentally appropriate learning environment meeting the physical, social/emotional, cognitive, and cultural needs of the child. This position is responsible to communicate effectively with parents/guardians about their child’s progress in each domain area. This position is a grade E13; pay rate is $63,064.00/year.
Education And Experience
- Must have BA/BS in Elementary Education or related field.
- Must have a current State-issued teaching license.
- Must have computer experience and be proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Must be Montessori certified at the level of the teaching assignment or obtain certification within 2 years of hire.
- Must have and maintain a current Infant/child/adult CPR and First Aid certificate or obtain within 6 months of hire.
- Must pass a thorough background check including Criminal History, fingerprint check, and pre-employment drug test.
Preferred Qualifications
- BA/BS in Elementary Education in the content area specific to the teaching assignment.
- Current State-issued teaching license with an endorsement in Early Childhood Education
- MA degree in Education in the content area specific to the teaching assignment.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license for state of residency and insurable under the Tribal vehicle insurance policy.
