Position Summary
Under general supervision of the J&R Director, plans, prepares, and performs emergency management, homeland security, and disaster prevention, protection, mitigation, response and recovery activities and projects; formulates and implements policies and procedures; ensures compliance with applicable tribal code, state, federal and other relevant guidelines and requirements.
This position is a grade E17; pay is $92,160.00/annually.
Education And Experience
Must have a BA/BS degree in Emergency Management, Homeland Security, Criminal Justice, Emergency Services, Public Administration, Business Administration or closely related field OR a relevant and equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Must have 5 years of experience in emergency management and disaster preparedness.
Must have working knowledge of Standardized Emergency Management Systems (SEMS), National Incident Management System (NIMS), Incident Command Systems (ICS), and Multi-Agency Coordination Systems (MACS).
Must have knowledge of Federal, State, County, and Local Emergency Management and Homeland Security programs.
Must have experience coordinating, preparing, and presenting tabletop and mockup training and exercises for incident management and disaster recovery procedures.
Must have supervisory experience.
Must have experience in budget development and management with general knowledge of procurement procedures.
Must have excellent computer experience in Microsoft Suite and Adobe.
Must have ICS 100 Introduction to the Incident Command System, ICS 200 ICS for Single Resource and Initial Action Incidents, ICS 300 Intermediate ICS for Expanding Incidents, ICS 400 Advanced ICS for Command and General Staff, IS-700 National Incident Management System, and IS-800 National Response Framework.
Must have a valid Driver’s License for state of residency and be insurable under the Tribal vehicle insurance policy.
Must pass a thorough criminal history background check, including fingerprint check and pre-employment drug test.
Must be able to work long and irregular hours in the event of an emergency or incident management situation.
Preffered Qualifications
Incident Command System Train the Trainer Certification.
Associate Emergency Manager certification (or equivalent) or Certified Emergency Manager (or equivalent).
Master Exercise Practitioner Program certification.
