Southern Technical College is seeking goal-driven applicants for its Career Services Advisor position. The Career Services Advisor is responsible for the placement of graduates within their field of study The Advisor works directly with graduates to ensure employment readiness, improve marketability to employers, identify remediation needs, and provide coaching as needed.
The Advisor also proactively sources job leads through cold-calling, job boards, internet sourcing, networking, employer visits within the community, and other means, in order to place graduates in entry level positions aligned with their training and skills. A Career Services Advisor must also verify employment records of graduates by gathering required documentation which meets all federal, state, accreditation, and company guidelines; and input graduate employment information and data into the campus database.
The qualified applicant will have a proven record as a self-starter who can build and maintain relationships with external and internal clients. The individual must be able to work effectively both independently and as a member of a team. The ideal applicant will have excellent communication skills and will be able to manage multiple projects at one time. Additionally:
- 3 years of experience in Career Services, staffing/recruiting, human resources, or workforce counseling are required
- At least an Associate’s Degree is required.
- Excellent computer skills are required.
