SUMMARY
The RCM Director is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the end-to-end revenue cycle operations for an interventional pain management group. This role ensures efficient, compliant, and accurate billing, coding, collections, and reimbursement processes to maximize revenue while maintaining exceptional patient satisfaction. The Director will lead a internal team and external vendors, implement strategic initiatives through automation and collaborate with clinical and administrative leadership to drive financial performance and operational excellence.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Revenue Cycle Management: Oversee all aspects of the revenue cycle, including patient registration, insurance verification, pre-authorizations, coding, billing, collections, and denial management, ensuring timely and accurate reimbursement.
- Team Leadership: Manage third party billing vendors.
- Improve workflow through automation utilizing advanced technology.
- Process Optimization: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce denials, and accelerate cash flow while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, CMS, and payer policies, OCR scanners, pre-authorization, pre-submittal scrubbing).
- Coding and Compliance: Ensure accurate coding practices (CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS) specific to interventional pain management procedures, maintaining compliance with federal, state, and payer regulations.
- Financial Performance: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as days in accounts receivable, denial rates, and collection rates, and develop strategies to meet or exceed financial goals.
- Technology Utilization: Oversee the use of revenue cycle management systems (e.g., HER, billing software) to streamline operations and improve reporting accuracy.
- Collaboration: Work closely with clinical leadership and outsourced resources to align revenue cycle processes with patient care delivery, ensuring seamless patient experiences.
- Training and Education: Develop and implement training programs for staff on billing, coding, and compliance best practices specific to pain management.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:
- Certified Coder: AAPC or AHIMA
- 3-5 years of coding experience
- Minimum of 2 years of provider education
- Minimum of 5 years in leadership with both internal and external teams
- Knowledge of eClinicalwork, analytics platforms (i.e., PowerBi, Tableau, etc)
- Strong excel skills (formulas, pivots)
- Comprehensive knowledge of legal cases related to motor vehicle crashes
- Strong knowledge of workers’ compensation
