Job Overview
The Southern Nevada Health District (SNHD) announces an examination process to create an eligibility list to fill one (1) vacancy for the classification of Chronic Disease Prevention & Health Promotion Manager in the Department of Community Health. The eligibility list may be utilized to fill vacancies for this classification for up to four (4) months.
Responsible for managing and coordinating the comprehensive activities of Southern Nevada Heath District’s (District) Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion departmental planning, fiscal management, grant development, implementation and evaluation; and to provide responsible and complex administrative support to the Director of Community Health.

Minimum Qualifications
Education, Training, and Experience:
- Master’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in public health, education, psychology, social work, or other related field and five (5) years of increasingly responsible public health education experience that includes a minimum of two (2) years of chronic disease prevention programming, public health practice research and development, and direct supervisory/managerial experience.
- An advanced Doctorate degree is preferred.
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, a Community Health Education Specialist (C.H.E.S.) certification within six (6) months of employment.
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, a Nevada Driver License within six (6) months of employment.
- Experience creating and implementing policy
