What You’ll Do
- Provide direct patient care, including assessments and medication administration
- Respond to sick calls, medical requests, and urgent needs
- Perform intake screenings and ongoing patient evaluations
- Prioritize and manage patient care needs throughout the shift
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation
- Ensure compliance with all clinical policies and procedures
- Support a safe and secure medical environment in collaboration with facility staff
What to Expect
This is a largely independent role during portions of the shift. You will be trusted to manage patient care, make sound clinical decisions, and respond to changing needs with confidence.
Support is available when needed, but your ability to work autonomously and stay organized will be key to success in this position.

Required
- Active LPN or RN license in North Carolina
- Current CPR certification
- Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Clear and effective communication skills
Preferred
- Previous correctional, long-term care, or emergency nursing experience
- Experience working in independent or minimally supervised settings
Employment Requirements
- Must pass background check, drug screening, and facility clearance
- Must maintain eligibility to work in a correctional environment
- Ability to meet physical and cognitive demands of the role, including emergency response
