Southern Health Partners is seeking a dependable Dental Assistant to work alongside our onsite dentist at the Houston County Jail.

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced dental assistant who is looking for occasional, consistent work without committing to a traditional full-time dental office schedule.

Our dentist provides dental services at the facility one day each month for an 8-hour shift, and we're looking for a dental assistant to support the dentist during those clinic days.

🦷 What You'll Do

• Assist the dentist with patient care and chairside procedures
• Prepare the treatment area and dental instruments for clinic
• Assist with instrument sterilization and infection control procedures
• Prepare patients for dental treatment
• Assist with dental procedures as directed by the dentist
• Maintain a clean, organized, and properly stocked treatment area
• Assist with dental supplies and equipment
• Follow all applicable infection control and safety procedures
• Perform other dental assisting duties within your training and scope as directed by the dentist
• Work professionally and respectfully with patients in a correctional healthcare environment

📋 Qualifications

• Previous dental assisting experience required
• Current CPR certification preferred
• Knowledge of dental instruments, sterilization, and infection control procedures
• Comfortable working directly alongside a licensed dentist
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow clinical instructions
• Professional, dependable, and able to maintain patient confidentiality
• Ability to work independently while supporting the dentist and healthcare team
• Correctional healthcare experience is not required

Candidates with formal dental assisting education or certification are encouraged to apply.

One day per month
8-hour shift

This is a contract position and an excellent opportunity for an experienced dental assistant looking for occasional supplemental work.
