We're seeking a Full Time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our healthcare team at the Cleveland County Jail. This position offers our popular rotating schedule with 12-hour day shifts, providing the work-life balance many nurses are searching for while allowing you to build valuable clinical experience in a unique healthcare setting.
Correctional nursing offers the opportunity to strengthen your assessment skills, work closely with providers and fellow nurses, and care for patients who often have limited access to healthcare services.
What You'll Do
✅ Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
✅ Complete nursing assessments and patient documentation
✅ Respond to sick call requests and medical concerns
✅ Monitor chronic conditions and patient progress
✅ Collaborate with providers and healthcare team members
✅ Maintain compliance with nursing standards, policies, and procedures
✅ Deliver professional, compassionate patient care in a secure environment
Qualifications:Qualifications
✔ Active, unrestricted North Carolina LPN license
✔ Current CPR certification or ability to obtain upon hire
✔ Strong communication and assessment skills
✔ Ability to work effectively within a structured healthcare environment
✔ Previous correctional nursing experience is helpful but not required
✔ New graduates are encouraged to apply
✔ Ability to obtain and maintain facility security clearance
