Southern Health Partners is seeking a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to join our healthcare team at the Cabarrus County Jail. In this role, you'll play an important part in providing safe, timely medication administration while supporting our Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) Program. π©Ί What You'll Do
- Administer prescribed medications accurately and safely in accordance with state regulations and facility policies
- Complete daily medication passes for incarcerated patients
- Assist with the Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) Program
- Check and document blood glucose levels as ordered
- Respond to routine medical needs within the Certified Medication Aide scope of practice
- Observe, document, and report patient responses, abnormal findings, or concerns to the nursing team
- Maintain accurate medication administration records and documentation
- Ensure medication carts and supplies remain organized and secure
- Collaborate with nurses, providers, and correctional staff to deliver quality patient care
- Follow all infection control, safety, and security procedures
β Qualifications
- Current North Carolina Certified Medication Aide (CMA) certification
- Must be listed on the North Carolina Medication Aide Registry to be eligible for employment
- Demonstrated competency in medication administration and blood glucose monitoring
- Ability to recognize and report changes in patient condition promptly
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous correctional healthcare or medication administration experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail and excellent documentation skills
- Ability to work every other weekend as part of the rotating schedule
- Must successfully complete a background check, drug screening, and facility credentialing requirements
