Head Coach – Junior Varsity Field Hockey

Southampton Union Free School District is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Head Coach - Junior Varsity Field Hockey.

The Head Coach - Junior Varsity Field Hockey will provide leadership for the District's junior varsity field hockey program by fostering a positive, supportive, and student-centered environment. The successful candidate will develop student-athletes' skills, promote teamwork and sportsmanship, ensure student safety, and prepare athletes for advancement to the varsity program while maintaining compliance with District policies and applicable interscholastic athletic regulations.

Responsibilities

• Organize and supervise all team practices and competitions.
• Teach the fundamentals, rules, and strategies of field hockey while promoting skill development.
• Foster teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth among student-athletes.
• Prepare student-athletes for progression to the varsity level.
• Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all participants.
• Communicate effectively with student-athletes, families, and the Athletic Department.
• Follow all District, Section XI, and New York State interscholastic athletic rules and regulations.
• Perform other coaching-related duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the sport of field hockey.
• CPR and First Aid certification.
• Previous coaching experience preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Ability to foster a positive, supportive, and inclusive team environment.
• Current Southampton UFSD employees preferred.
