What are the responsibilities and job description for the ODC Deck Hand- PT position at South Shore YMCA?
The ODC Deck Hand position is a seasonal position, under the supervision of the Facilities Director. The staff will address pool deck cleaning and building preparation tasks on a scheduled basis to be completed in a timely manner. The Deck Hand will be aware of safety issues and concerns for themselves and all members in carrying out their assigned duties. They will communicate to the Facility Director regarding any facility issues as they occur or when appropriate.

QUALIFICATIONS: Basic knowledge of cleaning processes preferred. The ability to develop positive, effective working relationships with staff, volunteers and members is important to this position. Effective delivery of appropriate customer service and a high level of enthusiasm are required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing the duties of this job the employee is often required to: climb stairs, bend, stoop, kneel, twist, reach with hands, sit, stand for extended period of time, walk, lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, have finger dexterity grasp, perform repetitive motions, talk, hear and have visual acuity.

- Clean and disinfect all areas of the outdoor center - locker rooms, bathrooms, common areas as assigned.
- Launder towels.
- Ability to work individually on tasks and as part of a team.
- Other custodial duties as assigned
