Job Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Physical Evaluation Board Liaison Officer (PEBLO) Assistant to join our team. The PEBLO Assistant will serve as a critical liaison between Service members, their commanders, and multiple medical and administrative stakeholders to ensure the timely and accurate processing of cases within the Integrated Disability Evaluation System (IDES). This role requires strong communication skills, knowledge of military medical processes, and the ability to manage sensitive information with discretion.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Obtain, assemble, and forward all required documents and records for Active Duty, AFRC, ANG members, Veterans Affairs Medical Service Coordinators, the local MEB, the IPEB, the FPEB, and other IDES stakeholders in accordance with regulatory guidance.
- Advise Service members and medical staff on PEB findings.
- Provide guidance and assist legal next-of-kin when a Service member is incapacitated or unable to manage their own legal affairs.
- Serve as a liaison between Service members, commanders, and a multidisciplinary team that may include primary care managers, health care professionals, case managers, patient administration personnel, the Office of Disability Counsel (ODC), the PEB, and Wounded Warrior Program liaisons/advocates.
- Assist with impartial medical views, rebuttals, and related documentation.
- Maintain effective communication in English, both written and verbal, to support coordination of cases and accurate recordkeeping.
Education and Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. Citizen (per contract requirement).
- Education: High School Degree General Educational Development (GED) equivalency and Medical Terminology.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required
- Board Certification: Not applicable.
- Licensure: Not applicable.
- Must be able to read, understand, speak, and write English fluently to communicate effectively in a professional setting.
