Basic Job Functions: Under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent of Business Services, the Director of Fiscal Services plans, organizes, supervises, and evaluates all aspects of the District’s fiscal operations. Key areas of responsibility include budget development and reporting, payroll, accounts payable and receivable, position control, purchasing, and financial analysis. The Director is also responsible for preparing accurate and timely financial reports required by the District, County, State, and Federal agencies. In addition to financial oversight, the Director ensures compliance with applicable laws, accounting standards, audit requirements, and internal controls. This position provides leadership and technical guidance to fiscal services staff, supporting professional growth and operational efficiency through training, supervision, and collaborative problem-solving.
Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred • At least three (3) years of experience in governmental or educational accounting, preferably with program/grant budget • Knowledge of California School Accounting Manual, GASB, and federal compliance regulations • Ability to analyze budget data, prepare financial reports, and collaborate across departments
