We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Service Manager to lead our service department. We are a small family dealership looking for a positive person to add to our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in dealership operations, travel trailer diagnostics, self motivation, with a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. This role offers an opportunity to oversee daily service operations, manage a team of technicians, and ensure customer satisfaction through expert vehicle maintenance and repair services.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the service department, including scheduling and workflow management
- Ensure all repairs and maintenance are performed efficiently, accurately, and to high-quality standards
- Oversee service writing, auto estimating, and ensure proper documentation of all repairs
- Manage customer interactions, providing expert advice on vehicle repairs and maintenance options
- Upsell additional services or repairs when appropriate to enhance customer value and department revenue
- Monitor technician performance, provide coaching, and facilitate ongoing training.
- Handle cash transactions accurately and maintain proper records
- Maintain a clean and organized service area in compliance with safety standards
- Stay current with travel trailer(RV) industry trends and technological advancements to improve department offerings
Skills
- Proven dealership experience with service management or similar leadership roles in repair shops
- Extensive knowledge of diagnostics, mechanical systems, and maintenance procedures
- Knowledge of dealing with warranty and insurance companies
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members
- Skilled in upselling services while maintaining integrity and customer trust
- Experience in estimating software and service writing processes
- Ability to lead a team of technicians with a focus on productivity and quality assurance
- Cash handling proficiency with attention to detail in financial transactions
- Sales experience is a plus for promoting vehicle-related services or new sales opportunities
