JOB LOCATION : Cancer Center
DEPARTMENT: PCC - RADIATION ONCOLOGY
SCHEDULE: Full Time, 8 HR Day Shift,
POSITION SUMMARY Under the direction of Medical Director, calibrates radiation therapy units, supervises and participates in radiation surveys, leaks and swipe testing of radioactive sources for Radiation Oncology. Makes Complex calculations for the application of external beam treatments, determination of dosages, etc. Provides instruction in Radiation Safety to hospital personnel.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES MS degree in Medical Physics preferred; however, other appropriate physical science graduate degree accepted. Five years of clinical experience in clinical Radiation Therapy preferred. Experience in calibration of equipment, medical dosimetry calculation; operate QA/Radiation Safety Program preferred. Board eligible for ABR or ABMP; board certification required within 2 years of employment. Possess excellent Interpersonal relationship and communication Current healthcare provider CPR required.
