JOB LOCATION : Psychiatry

DEPARTMENT: PSYCHIATRY

SCHEDULE: Full Time, 8 HR Day Shift,

POSITION SUMMARY

The Medical Assistant supports psychiatric providers and therapists by delivering essential clinical and administrative services that ensure efficient and patient-centered care. This role exists to facilitate patient flow, maintain accurate clinical documentation, and assist with medication management and coordination of care. The Medical Assistant plays a key role in monitoring patient status, supporting mental health assessments and promoting a safe, therapeutic environment. By collaborating with providers, therapists and nursing staff, this position helps ensure high-quality behavioral health services and continuity of care.

EDUCATION 

• High School Graduate or equivalent preferred. 
• Certified Medical Assistant preferred. 
• Current CPR Certification. 

• One-year experience in clinical area preferred. 
• General office skills and medical terminology preferred. 

WORKING CONDITIONS - ADA INFORMATION 

Works primarily in the medical office setting, consistent shift and unit. Requires moderate to frequent lifting (excess of 50lbs.), bending, and assisting in same, using correct techniques. Must be able to operate office equipment, computer terminals and keyboard, and triage equipment. Requires extensive walking during the shift.
