About South Florida Wellness Network

South Florida Wellness Network (SFWN) is a Recovery Community Organization (RCO) dedicated to promoting recovery, wellness, and peer support throughout Florida. We partner with Floridians for Recovery (FFR), Recovery Community Organizations (RCOs), behavioral health providers, and community stakeholders to strengthen recovery supports across the state.

Position Summary

The Community Coordinator supports statewide and local recovery initiatives by coordinating projects, communications, partnerships, meetings, and operational activities. This position serves as a liaison between South Florida Wellness Network, Floridians for Recovery, Recovery Community Organizations (RCOs), and community partners to ensure successful implementation of recovery-focused programs and grant initiatives.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, collaborative, and passionate about supporting recovery-oriented systems of care.

Essential ResponsibilitiesProject Coordination

  • Coordinate day-to-day implementation of statewide and local recovery initiatives.
  • Maintain project timelines, work plans, and implementation schedules.
  • Track grant deliverables, project milestones, and reporting deadlines.
  • Coordinate meetings with staff, Recovery Community Organizations (RCOs), and community partners.
  • Monitor project progress and follow up on action items.
  • Assist with planning and implementation of recovery-focused projects and events.

Community Engagement & Collaboration

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for Recovery Community Organizations (RCOs) and community partners.
  • Foster collaboration among SFWN, Floridians for Recovery (FFR), RCOs, behavioral health providers, and community organizations.
  • Coordinate statewide meetings, Communities of Practice, trainings, and technical assistance activities.
  • Prepare meeting agendas, minutes, and project documentation.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with community stakeholders.

Training & Administrative Support

  • Coordinate training schedules and registrations.
  • Maintain attendance records and distribute training materials.
  • Coordinate travel, meeting logistics, and scheduling.
  • Maintain organized project files and documentation.
  • Assist with procurement and other operational activities as assigned.

Data & Reporting

  • Maintain project tracking systems.
  • Collect documentation required for grant reporting.
  • Prepare reports, meeting summaries, and program updates.
  • Monitor completion of project activities and deliverables.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in behavioral health, recovery support, nonprofit coordination, project management, social services, or a related field.
  • Experience coordinating projects, meetings, or community initiatives.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and virtual meeting platforms.
  • Experience collaborating with community partners and diverse stakeholders.
  • Valid Florida driver's license.
  • Reliable transportation and proof of automobile insurance.
  • Ability to travel throughout Florida as needed.
  • Ability to successfully pass a Level II Background Screening.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Recovery Peer Specialist (CRPS).
  • Experience working with Recovery Community Organizations (RCOs).
  • Knowledge of recovery-oriented systems of care and peer support services.
  • Experience coordinating grant-funded programs.
