The Assistant Registrar for Enrollment Services & Compliance supports consistent, student‑centered service while ensuring adherence to institutional, state, and federal regulations. The role oversees academic records management, FERPA compliance, policy interpretation, appeals, and enrollment‑related decision making—key functions that promote student success and maintain institutional compliance. This position is located in Brookings, SD. This position is a 12-month, full-time, benefits-eligible position.
The Registrar’s Office, also referred to as Records and Registration, is the guardian for official institutional academic records. The office provides a variety of services and information to students, advisors, faculty and academic units in support of students achieving academic goals

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Assistant Registrar, Enrollment Services & Compliance supports the Office of Records and Registration by overseeing key operational areas including student record management, compliance and academic policy, course scheduling and academic logistics, and graduation processing. This role ensures the accuracy, security, and integrity of student records and promotes efficient, student-centered services across the institution. The Assistant Registrar collaborates with the Registrar, academic departments, and campus partners to uphold institutional standards, streamline processes, and implement continuous improvements.

QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree completed by application date
- At least one to three years of experience in student records management or student registration in a higher education setting
- Demonstrated experience with student information systems and management of student data
- Understanding of FERPA regulations
- Ability to interpret and apply academic policies
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and organization skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with administrators, faculty, and staff across the university
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience supervising staff
- Knowledge of trends in higher education and best practices in student records and registration
- Demonstrated experience with process improvements and technology implementation
