The Assistant Registrar for Systems & Technology plays a critical role in managing and optimizing the university’s student information ecosystem. This position provides specialized expertise in Banner configuration, system integrations, data integrity, degree audit support, reporting, and process automation. The role ensures that academic records and student information systems operate efficiently, accurately, and in alignment with institutional needs. This position is located in Brookings, SD. This position is a 12-month, full-time, benefits-eligible position.
The Registrar’s Office, also referred to as Records and Registration, is the guardian for official institutional academic records. The office provides a variety of services and information to students, advisors, faculty and academic units in support of students achieving academic goals

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Assistant Registrar, Systems & Technology provides leadership and operational support for key functional areas within the Office of Records and Registration. This role oversees academic systems and technologies, manages degree audit and transfer evaluation processes, coordinates staff training, and contributes to strategic planning initiatives in partnership with the Registrar. The Assistant Registrar ensures accuracy, efficiency, and a student-centered approach in all assigned responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree completed by application date
- At least one year of experience in student records management or student registration in a higher education setting
- Demonstrated experience with student information systems and management of student data
- Understanding of FERPA regulations
- Ability to interpret and apply academic policies
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and organization skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with administrators, faculty, and staff across the university
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience supervising staff
- Knowledge of trends in higher education and best practices in student records and registration
- Demonstrated experience with process improvements and technology implementation
