The University of South Dakota School of Law invites applications for a Senior Secretary. This is a 12-month, Civil Service, regular position eligible for state benefits.
This position will serve in an administrative support capacity for law school faculty members and other Law School staff, as needed. They will also interact often with students, alum, and the community including frequent contact with practicing lawyers, judges, and professors from other law schools and disciplines. Thus, the successful applicant will reflect a high level of professionalism and cooperation.
Preferred skills include:
Preferred professional skills include effective organizational skills and interpersonal skills at a level that can effectively support faculty and students. Familiarity with internet research, database research, legal research, legal writing and the practice or education of law is a plus.

- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse people
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality

The mission of the University of South Dakota School of Law is to prepare lawyers and judges for the federal, state, and American Indian justice systems in South Dakota and to provide South Dakota residents and other students an affordable legal education imparting the knowledge, skills, and values necessary for the practice of law or other careers in a culturally diverse and global environment.
