The University of South Dakota’s Division of Continuing & Distance Education is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Program Assistant I.
This position is in a fast-paced environment and independently provides comprehensive administrative, financial, and data support for the division of Continuing & Distance Education (CDE), ensuring accurate processing, documentation, and timely service to internal staff, instructors, and students. Coordinates key operational workflows for online and distance courses—including course data maintenance, course logistics, contracts, and compliance activities—to promote effective program delivery and adherence to applicable policies and regulations.
The successful candidate must have strong customer service skills, be team-oriented and highly organized, exhibit attention to detail, and be comfortable with the use of Microsoft Office products specifically Word, Outlook, and Excel, as well as Google Sheets.
Qualifications:
This position requires strong administrative, technical, and organizational skills to support Continuing and Distance Education operations. The successful candidate will demonstrate accuracy in managing data and financial processes, effective communication and workflow coordination, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently while supporting students, instructors, and campus partners. Familiarity with higher education systems, policies, and process improvement is preferred.
