The University of South Dakota is currently seeking applications for the Director of Track & Field Operations and Assistant Coach to oversee all internal matters pertaining to the day to day operations of the track & field program.
Responsibilities: Include the oversight of administrative tasks associated with the operations of an efficient Division I track & field program. This position will report directly to the Director of Track & Field and will be the primary liaison with various athletic department staff members. The Director of Operations/Assistant Coach will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating team travel (including creating itineraries, making arrangements for lodging, meals, transportation, scheduling workouts and practices, and handling recruiting matters for the program. The Director of Track & Field Operations will be responsible for assisting with building and maintaining the budget for team travel and equipment. The position will also serve as staff liaison to the Equipment Room with equipment purchases and disbursements and assist with facility set-up and tear-down on game day and as needed.
This position will also act as a liaison with community outreach programs, coordinating public relations, planning and monitoring special events and projects, and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and knowledge of the sport of D1 Track & Field. Experience and/or knowledge of the Athletic Department Equipment room are helpful. The selected candidate must have knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations
